Urge Plainville ,MA to build a Dog Park

The town of Plainville has 8000 current residents, and we have many athletic programs, for adults and children, but what about our dogs?
Our canine citizens need a place to socialize to,so help support the Plainville Dog Park effort by signing our petition.
Our mission is to help the residents of Plainville and surrounding towns to persuade local officials to donate land for a dog park near the center of Plainville.
We are dedicated to bring closeness, not only to the community and its surrounding neighbors but with all dog owners and their canine companions. We are committed to bring fourth a safe and friendly place where dogs and their owners can socialize in a relaxed off-leash fully fenced in Dog Park.

Dear Maureen Dunfey,

We the undersigned are requesting the use of town land behind the tennis courts on the opposite side of the pond to use for a public off- leash dog park. A dog park near the center of our town will not only bring our towns people closer together it also will boost revenue at our local stores and markets. Bringing people from surrounding town to our town will also increase use and awareness of our Skate Park, and play ground, in turn bringing children from the surrounding towns together. More traffic in Plainville will also bring increased awareness of our athletic programs as well. A dog park community brings together like minded people with common interests; their dogs. Passionate dog people love to share their knowledge with other, spreading proper care for dogs inevitably reducing the number of aggressive, barking, frustrated dogs in our area.  A properly exercised dog makes a better neighbor that an under exercised dog. Allowing our community to bring our dogs together can alleviate problem with lost or loose dogs, if we all know each others dogs then we know who to return him to instead of calling the police to come away from more important things to deal with a lost dog.  Our town is made up of 8000 citizens.  How many canine citizens do we have? We have no place our dogs can run freely off leash and many places around us do not allow dogs. In the winter our side walks are seldom plowed. Where do we walk them? On the street? That could cause and accident. We would like an area to enjoy our canine companions as well as each other; it's easy to get to know each other over a common interest. The Plainville dog park not only will effect dog owners but non dog owners as well, and being so close to the playground and skate park ENTIRE families can come to enjoy our beautiful town.
Soliciting local businesses to volunteer goods and services to establish and maintain the park could minimize or eliminate any costs to the tax payers.  Fundraisers could also assist with the costs of maintaining and constructing the dog park. A chance to come and speak with you regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much for your careful consideration on this matter and we look forward to speaking with you at your earliest convenience.
