Vineyards Elementary: All Color Polo Petition

Due to the current harsh economy, many VES families will be financially unable to comply with a strict uniform dress code.  Since the dress code only passed by 57%, the strict constraint of having only four shirt colors - which do not coincide with VES school colors - should be eliminated.  Families will need to utilize whatever is available from thrift stores, sales racks and hand-me-downs in order to comply with the uniform policy.  CCPS schools such as Calusa Park and Lely Elementary Schools, who had begun with a strict policy, have been forced to relax their policy to allow any color polo shirt.  At least eight CCPS elementary schools utilize this policy as part of their dress code.
We, the parents of Vineyards Elementary School, propose the following policy modification: the inclusion of any solid color "polo style" shirt, short or long sleeve, with no stripes, prints or large words. (Please refer to the Avalon Elementary School dress code policy.)
