Girl Scouts, Don't March in the Inaugural Parade
I was a Girl Scout for 13 years. I went to Girl Scout camp every summer through elementary and middle school. I have always been proud that I was a member of Troop 478. Until now.
I am horrified by the Girl Scouts of the USA's decision to march in the inaugural parade celebrating a man who has called women fat and ugly, who consistently shows a blatant disrespect for women and girls, and who has bragged about sexually assaulting women.
The Girl Scouts of the USA is dedicated to inclusiveness, giving back to the community, and empowering girls to be leaders. President-elect Donald Trump undermines everything that the Girl Scouts stand for. Everything that I stand for.
Please sign my petition urging the Girl Scouts of the USA not to march in the inaugural parade. We cannot normalize President-elect Trump's words and actions. We cannot send the message to our girls that fat-shaming and sexual assault are OK.
