Defund the Supreme Court until John Roberts Agrees to Ethics Rules

Chief Justice John Roberts refuses to agree to a set of ethics rules for Supreme Court Justices, even though every other federal judge has them. He won't even talk to Congress about it, citing the separation of powers.

Well, maybe the separation of powers prevents Congress from imposing rules, but Congress still controls federal funding — and it should defund the Court until Roberts agrees to enact sensible ethics rules.

Recent revelations about Clarence Thomas secretly receiving millions of dollars in vacations have shattered what little integrity the Court still had. The three progressive judges still deserve respect (and if possible, their funding should be left intact ), but the conservative majority means the stench of corruption is overwhelming the whole institution. And it's time for action.
