The crime rate in district 5, Jacksonville, Florida has increased. The neighborhood has been in a declining state for years. Local businesses and stores have closed due to the increased crime rate. There has also been a steady decline in the schools located in this district. Families no longer feel protected and safe in the neighborhoods. Additional support is needed from the City of Jacksonville. A police substation located within district 5 would help lower the crime rate. We want to build our neighborhood into one that will flourish and nurture families. We want families to feel safe and secure at home. We want to build new communities within district 5. By having a police substation within the neighborhood, we will show families that we are working towards a better tomorrow for everyone.
