Some members of the current Board of Supervisors are trying to get rid of the Open Space EIT in East Nottingham Township that was voted in by the residents twice with ballot referendums. The money collected by this tax can only be used for open space preservation, and there are still farms that can be preserved. This preservation saves our township from having more developments and more homes being built. Keeping this development from happening saves us from an increase in school taxes due to an influx of students.
History: The residents voted in a 0.5% tax, but the Board in 2016 decided they didn't need a whole percent every year to preserve what they needed, so they put the Earned Income Tax at 0.25%
