Tell Veterinarians: Devocalization is Mutilation!

  • por: Kelly Rogers

UPDATE

On behalf of our dogs, Lola and Porter, and all the volunteers of Coalition to Protect and Rescue Pets, thank you for joining us in asking the AVMA to revise its policy on devocalization. Until it does, this cruelty will never end.

Please take a few more minutes to help us help dogs and cats.

1) Ask your friends, family, coworkers, anyone who cares about animals to sign the petition too. It will take many thousands of names, expressing widespread public outrage, to influence the AVMA.

2) If you’ve adopted or treated a devocalized animal, contact us at stopdevocalizing@aol.com

3) Urge your vet to support banning vocal cord surgery for any reason except the only ethical one: to treat a physical ailment causing the animal physical, medical harm. He or she just needs to submit this form: http://cprpets.weebly.com/veterinary-endorsement-form.html

Don't be shy! You’re the client. You pay the bills. You have the right to speak out for all animals, not just your own. And you also have the right to bring your best friend to a vet who shares your humane values, like those who have posted comments on this petition.
