Tell Secretary Clinton: Protect Afghan Civilians!

In the wake of a U.S. serviceman killing 16 people, among them nine children, it has become obvious that United States and Afghan forces must do more in order to ensure the safety of Afghan civilians.

More than 3,000 civilians died in conflict in 2011.

The United States must take full accountability for the tragedy that killed 16 in the Panjwai district and respond by reforming their civilian safety strategies, ensuring that all soldiers receive adequate mental health care and provide compensation to the family's involved in the horrible massacre.

The civilians of Afghanistan should no longer be forced to live in fear and the United States should have no part in creating distress among civilians.

The United States must be at the forefront of investigating any soldiers who are accused of violating the laws of war.

Tell Secretary Clinton: Protect Afghan Civilians!

We the undersigned are deeply disturbed by the recent massacre that left 16 Afghan civilians dead in the Panjwai district.

This shocking mass murder should not have occurred and Afghan civilians should not live in fear that the tragedy may be repeated.

The United States must reform their strategies for civilian safety, ensure that soldier have proper mental health care available and compensation must be provided to those whose family members were killed in the tragedy.

The lives of Afghan civilians are constantly at risk and the United States should have no part in that fear.
