Stop Elephant Slaughter
Due to CITES agreeing to release stockpiled ivory to China this is now causing severe poaching of elephants in the wild, including those on reserves and protected areas. This results in the Mother's being killed and calves left abandoned. But for organisations such as the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust together with other large conservancies and good relations with many of the African tribes many hundreds of baby elephants would die or be killed. It is time we looked to the relevant governments to assist in the protection and conservation of these lovely creatures who like us live in family groups and deserve to live in peace in their natural surroundings. The UK government is one such organisation that has agreed tolift the ban on stockpiled ivory, thus compounding the poaching of elephants and rhino. CITES stands for Convention In International Trade in Endangered Species. By agreeing to lift the ban they are now endangering the very species that they had agreed to protect. Please petition the UK government and other governments world wide to help protect the elephants and rhino so that pictures like this one do not have to be taken any more.
