Stop the British militarisation of the Falklands/Malvinas

Britain is deliberately stepping up tensions in the Falklands/Malvinas by sending a destroyer to the region. This is a deliberately provocative act which will raise tensions in that part of the world. What would Britain's reaction be if Argentina had occupied and claimed Orkney or Shetland or the Hebrides in the middle of the 19th century? It is time they were returned to Argentinian durisdiction : it is inevitable one day anyway.
