Horse Crossing Sign on New Road

I am requesting that the town post “Horse Crossing” signs on each end of New Road. The signs are important for the following reasons.
• Safety for horse and rider
o New Road is adjacent to Hannah Nutter Drive which has two entrance/exits and is a busy road. A posted sign will increase the level of safety.
• Awareness for motorists and neighbors
o If a sign is posted, motorists will be made aware that they may have to slow down before they encounter a horse and rider. And it will serve as a reminder.
• Encouragement for riders to use the open land on New Road for hacking with their horse, a healthy and fun activity.
o It is legal for equestrians to ride on the road. A sign will affirm that motorists and equestrians should share the road. It will also hopefully encourage more equestrians to use the road.
