Hermès is well-known for its luxury fashion items, including belts, wallets and handbags made from alligator- and crocodile- skin.
But did you know the alligators and crocodiles who give their lives in the name of fashion are kept in dark pits or barren concrete holding areas, killed before they reach adulthood, and are brutally skinned and sawed apart?
We must demand that Hermès end this blatant cruelty, and stop using these reptiles immediately.
Dear Axel Dumas,
Hermès is well-known for its luxury fashion items, including belts, wallets and handbags made from alligator and crocodile skin.
But the alligators and crocodiles who give their lives in the name of fashion are kept in dark pits or barren concrete holding areas, killed before they reach adulthood, and are brutally skinned and sawed apart.
Surely you cannot condone such appalling conditions? Luxury should not equal cruelty; it is entirely possible to create beautiful accessories using cruelty-free materials.
Please stop using alligator and crocodile skins immediately, to spare these creatures from such appalling cruelty.
