Chickens are hauled to their deaths in tiny crates packed in on trailer trucks. It is horrible and very freighting I am sure. These trucks are not protected from the elements.
I recently saw a truck on I 5 packed 5 to 7 or more stacked high with young ickens crammed into theses cages and the wind blowing on them at 79 plus mikes an hour.
The scene was bad and even looked like some had died in route to be slaughtered. Hundreds all crunched down and scared laying on one another. This was a horrific thing to see while driving.
I did not look to see the name of the company I was so upset to see this. There has to be a better and humane way to transport these chickens. Bigger cages and protection from the elements in trucks.
