Malawi went to the polls on May 21, 2019. Since then, a lot of irregularities and manipulations have been reported, with some evidence captured on camera, voice recordings and tampered tally sheets.
The vote is our voice to chart the direction we would like to see for our country. No man or woman has the right to force an outcome on us. Given that the credibility of the vote is severely compromised, we demand a manual count of each vote cast, before a winner is declared or inaugurated. If this is not possible, then this vote should be nullified and fresh elections should be called.
You esteemed citizens of our country know very well that 'the law is never static; it is always changing, being interpreted or redefined, to ensure that the law constantly reflects changes in society and address emerging challenges.'
You have the capacity to address the impasse in the country, with utmost integrity as required by your offices.
