When a president makes a fortune from crypto while in office, the public must know who the hell that money is coming from. Especially when it includes heaving piles of bullsh*t that no investor in their right mind would buy, like the Trump commemorative crypto coin. So what exactly are the buyers buying?
Congress can subpoena these records, and release them to the public. And since Republicans control Congress (for now) they need to make it happen.
This is the kind of thing that pisses off even the MAGA base. And with Trump losing support, and midterm elections just a few months away, Congressional Republicans are frantically looking for ways to start moving away from Trump, and distance themselves from the stench. Here's their chance.
Make them do it. Because when they "feel the fire", they "see the light."
