Legalize Gay Marriage in the United States

This past election day the state of Connecticut legalized gay marriage, this was a step fowards towards equality for ALL Americans when it comes to the issue of gay marriage. However, our country also took a step back when California passed Preposition 8, making gay marriage illegal in the state of California. Still in America today citizens are denied rights due to bigotry and hate. This country was founded on the ideas that all people are created equal. Proposition 8 does not protect that right. If a man wants to visit his partner in the hospital, he can't due to proposition 8. We are the UNITED States of America, not the divided. Its not fair that some states gay coulpes can get married and in most they can't. This is similiar to what the south was like back during the time of the Jim Crow laws. I ask all to think about the discrimination that thousands of couples are facing todasy in this country, and please be part of the change.
