Care 2 Petition site recently allowed the creation of a petition which aims to stop the ONLY CURRENTLY EFFECTIVE METHOD of preserving New Zealand's heavily endangered wildlife.
The premise of this petition shows clear biological & ecological ignorance of what will happen to New Zealand's endemic and native wildlife if the use of 1080 poison is stopped.
The Animal Health Board, The Department Of Conservation, Forest & Bird, Federated Farmers, Environmental Protection Authority and The Parliamentary Commissioner For The Environment all recognise that in the absense of any better alternative, 1080 poison is currently the best way to preserve New Zealand's native and endemic wildlife.
In a vain and deceptive attempt to further their agenda through incomplete information surround the issue the creators of the petition: animal rights activist group Paws 4 a Cause conveniently left out any important biological information about what 1080 is doing to save the native and endemic species of New Zealand.
The petition uses a clear appeal to emotion, rather than complete factual information to justify its cause. Stop this now.
