Get the Supreme Water Act Passed

There are many regulations in place preventing people from polluting bodies of water. But as you can probably tell, none are nearly harsh enough as there are still many bodies of water being polluted. Whether it is toxic waste or agricultural runoff, it is impacting the environment in a harmful way. The majority of water pollution comes from factories owned by large companies that don't care for the environment, as long as they get a profit. There is also the issue of the EPA being underfunded, so there are still many bodies of water that are heavily polluted in the US, as well as the head of the EPA being a staunch republican that doesn't believe in climate change. In short, we need a law that will act harshly upon companies that pollute the water.

The Supreme Water Act will:
- Force companies to pay 10% of their average yearly profits from the past 3 years
- If the company is a repeat offender, the fine will double from the last time
- The company must assist in the cleanup by funding it
- If it is a restaurant or a shop it's ratings will be altered

We think that an act like this would discourage companies from polluting because of its large fines, and speed up the cleanup because the company has to fund it. Overall, this would be a great way to make America's water cleaner.
