Bye Joe Biden

  • por: USC Student

Due to the lack of preparedness by the university, students are now highly upset that tickets are required for next month's graduation ceremony. While it is an honor to have Joe Biden come to our graduation ceremony, we also have worked very hard for this moment in our lives and wish that more than FOUR family members...or whatever the rumored limited amount may be shared it with us.

The University has failed to properly notify us of how and when this ticket regulation will be handled and at this point they should at least allow us to have more than four tickets if Biden must come. We had to find out VIA Twitter and that is unacceptable. Hundreds of students have spent money on invitations and I can assure you more than 4 individuals were invited.

This petition was not created to disrespect the VP of our country, but to make sure that we have a say in OUR big day. We understand security measures are necessary but more than four tickets or an "uninvite" seems like the answer. Family members and loved ones sharing our commencement ceremony is far more important.

Family members have booked flights, hotels, and made many different arrangements for this major life event. Something has to be done regarding such an unfortunate and unfair occurrence.

We hope that with enough signatures we will be able to speak with President Harris Pastides and/or Dennis Pruitt regarding the matter.

***UPDATE***

It's been said that we will now receive 6 instead of 4. While this news is exciting, it still isn't enough. Please continue to help spread the word and hopefull make a change before one of the biggest days of our lives.

Thank you.
