Stop Drilling Oil for War That Could Push Rice's Whales to Extinction

There are fewer than 100 Rice's whales left on Earth. And now, the U.S. government is willing to sacrifice them for oil

The Trump administration is pushing to expand drilling in the Gulf under the guise of "national security," even securing a rare exemption from endangered species protections to make it happen. That means oil companies could move forward with drilling even if it harms or kills protected animals, like endangered Rice's whales.

Sign the petition to demand an immediate halt to oil and gas drilling expansion in the Gulf of Mexico before this species is wiped out forever.

Rice's whales live nowhere else on Earth. They survive in a fragile, narrow stretch of ocean already battered by ship strikes, noise pollution, and the lasting damage of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Scientists warn that increased drilling in the Gulf of Mexico could push them past the point of no return. It will disrupt their feeding, poison their habitat, and increase the risk of another catastrophic spill.

And it's not just Rice's whales at risk. Sea turtles. Manatees. Corals. Seabirds. Entire ecosystems are now at risk, all so fossil fuel extraction can accelerate under the cover of war.

If we allow this, we are sending a chilling message to the world: that no species is too rare to lose and no law is too important to break when profit and war are on the line.

Sign the petition now to demand that U.S. authorities reject this dangerous exemption and protect endangered species from being sacrificed for oil.
