Melinda came to the UK in March, 2015. In the same year she met her fiance and in 2017 their baby girl was born. They lived happily.
Unfortunately her fiance sadly passed away in March, 2019.
Now Melinda is left alone. Their daughter is 2 years old so Melinda is not able to go back to work because she's got noone to look after her daughter and childcare or a babysitter would take her wage.
As she hasn't been here for 5 years, only for four, in this case the one year stops Melinda being entitled to anything.
There is a chance that we can help her by signing this petition and in this way ask the council together to let this one year off for her and make her be eligible for help from the country where she's been working, settling down and raising her british child before she loses her home.
