Sometimes little things make a big difference. This is most certainly one of them. For several years now there has been a push to create a "new" Department of Peace in Washington with no avail. This was a wonderful effort lead by Marianne Williamson and others. However, it is now believed that all that is needed is a shift in perception by the thousand of good people serving now in the Department of Defence... who really are serving to keep the Peace. This being the case, there is no need to polarize something by creating seperation. Let us embrace "In God We Trust" deeply, meaning there is nothing to defend. Thus, by signing this petition, you will be joining in asking our leaders to change, to shift their 'frame of reference"... that the reason for our military is PEACE, not Defence. Thus signing this petition asks our leaders simply that we change the name of the Department of Defence to The Department of PEACE. HEREIN WE BEGIN SAYING "IN GOD WE TRUST" our many brave and honorable men and women in service to Keep The PEACE!
