The IRS by law is required to hold tax refunds for individuals who claim the Child Tax Credit, EITC etc. The majority of families that claim these credits are low income and really depend on their returns to pay bills and make ends meet. 2018 tax season has caused more poor Americans undue stress and hardship by further complicating the refund process by holding the refunds for extended times beyond the February 15th date. Citing wage verification, ID verification, etc. they are many times saying they aren't sure why tax payers' refunds are under review. What is clear is that Corporate America with their big tax breaks aren't waiting on their money!! The rich are getting richer and the poor are well....you know the rest. I personally had to take out not one but two loans to keep my lights on in my home because of the shenanigans at the IRS this tax season. Let's get this petition signed and hold the IRS accountable!
