Six Flags Discovery Kingdom zoo/theme park is only fun for its two-legged guests. They at least can come and go as they please. But for the rest of their "guests" — the animals that call it "home" — the park provides anything but amusement. The northern California animal/fun park has a menagerie of animals that includes tigers, seals, lions, cougars, and dolphins. All of which will likely die the way they lived — without ever knowing what it's like to be free.
Now that it's Christmas season, Six Flags is offering a special "Dolphin Holiday" show, where parkgoers can enjoy a "spectacular" presentation. As the webpage says you can "forget the reindeer" because their "amazing dolphins" will be the stars of the show as they showcase their "awe-inspiring talents."
But this holiday season, we are challenging Six Flags to go cruelty-free and drop the Dolphin Holiday show. Sign now if you feel the same.
The Dolphin Holiday show will be accompanied by blaringly loud holiday music and dolphin trainers donning festive holiday attire. But in reality, it's the same show, as usual, same forced tricks and small swimming enclosures. But only this time during the Christmas season.
The name itself is laughable. For the dolphins that will be starring in the show, it is anything but a vacation. Not even during their own holiday, can they actually get a day off.
These shows shouldn't exist in the first place but during the holidays they are even more depressing.
On top of that, Six Flags has plenty of other holiday-themed attractions this year that don't involve celebrating animal cruelty so there's no need to exploit the dolphins.
Tell Six Flags to give their dolphins a real holiday. Sign the petition and ask them to cancel their "Dolphin Holiday" show.
