The Big Oaks Rescue Farm is the only rescue saving Horses, donkeys and other animals in the upstate of SC. Located in Greenwood SC it is home and sanctuary to over 300 animals. The rescue is assisting law enforcement and the community who can no longer care for their horses and other livestock at no cost to the counties of the upstate. The animals are transported and cared for through donations from animal lovers.
The rescue is currently caring for many emaciated horses that were rescued in the last 2 months, who are so badly starved they are in critical condition.
There are other options to consider besides selling the farm. A trade of property has been offered and if additional help is needed to save the farm the Rescue will need more time to come up with possible solutions to keep the animals in this location where all the animals have proper shelter and housing.
We feel that the organization is irreplaceable and a tremendous value to Greenwood and surrounding counties. Please reconsider the forced listing of the farm land for sale.
