Please let us contribute a stall at the Fair on Kersal Moor on July 3rd

St Paul's Church has shown hospitality to Friends of Kersal Moor since its inception and asks that we be shown the same in being given permission to contribute a stall to the community Fair being organised for the Moor next to St Paul's for the afternoon of July 3rd. We believe this request is in line with the British Values of mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith. We are confident that for us to have a stall would not offend any other faith groups within our area. We accept that the Council does not wish to directly fund religious activities but have also been advised that its intention in regard to this policy is not to support discrimination by council-funded groups against other local community groups on the basis of creed or colour. We therefore submit that for FOKM to discriminate against us in regard to preventing us from taking part visibly in the Fair would be discriminatory and feel it would be unjust as well as disappointing.
