Hello,
I didn't know much regarding leukemia until it introduced it's self to our family. Our story starts in January of this year but, exactly January 11,2015; when my oldest niece Desiree J. Roberson died suddenly and we didn't know what really happenend. Before we could really wrap our heads around Desiree passing, August 4,2015 her sister Eleanor A. Roberson-Null was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia).
We were in total shock and disbelief over this... Both girls were only in their 20's and no one on either side of our families had been diagnosed with any type of blood cancer. Needless to say Eleanor who is my youngest niece loss her battle on October 11,2015 nine months to the date of her sister passing away.
I'm starting this petiton to raise awareness for Leukemia and Lymphoma cancer. The city of Philadelphia has turned the skyline "Pink" for numerous years and have brought great attention to Breast Cancer Awareness but, now it's time to focus our energy in bringing attention to blood cancer and families that are fighting, loss and are still trying to raise awareness and monies for continued research to cure blood cancer. Your signature is needed to bring forth a call to action and attention-help the millions of individuals who are trying to fight and beat Leukemia.
Please lend your support to bring this amazing event to life not just for my two nieces but, for everyone that has, is or will be diagnosed with blood cancer. We need this to happen every year and not just one and done...
