Hey DG NATION! I used to live in Squamish BC and the SVEA (Squamish Valley Equestrian Association) has worked SO HARD with LIMITED BODIES AND FUNDS to provide a lovely site with 2 Fenced Rings and Good Footing soley by volunteer hours and donated goods/$$. Squamish is susposed to be the 'Outdoor Capital of the World' but really have not made any consessions for Equestrians- Slowly banning Horses from trails and rezoning land to prevent the keeping of Horses on your property let alone running a fully functional Equestrian Centre (even though there are more people wanting to ride/learn to ride than horses or facilities available) . Squamish has a small but REALLY GREAT core group of Equestrains and even had 2 riders go to the BC GAMES & The Canadian Interprovinical Equestrian Championships in Bromont Quebec!

The proposed site they would like us to move to is directly adjacent to the Rod and Gun Club. Once that land is cleared for development, the noise from the Rod and Gun Club will be greatly magnified. Blasts of gunfire echoing around the inside of an indoor arena would create an impossible situation for equestrian pursuits. Not to mention the cost of moving and rebuilding and the time and energy it would take to accomplish it.
Without a strong show of support we will lose what we have and we do not have the resources in funds nor manpower to rebuild. Please join with us to make our voices heard.
