Wealthy People Are Kicking Birds Out of Trees to Protect Their Cars

Wealthy residents of an exclusive neighborhood in Bristol have attached anti-bird spikes to trees in an effort to protect their expensive cars from bird droppings. According to reports, the spikes have made the trees completely uninhabitable to birds.

The sense of entitlement these residents have shown by altering the ecosystem just to protect their Audis and BMWs is egregious. Please sign this petition urging the Bristol City Council to takes these spikes down immediately.

Spikes are often used around shopping centers to deter birds so that shoppers are protected from droppings when entering and exiting stores, but the use of them on trees is ridiculous. Ecosystems provide benefits to both the living and nonliving organisms that interact within it, and taking shelter away from these birds will inevitably have other unintended consequences -- all to protect fancy cars.

There are alternative solutions for protecting cars from bird droppings that don't involve domination over nature and wildlife, like using a car cover.

Let's join together and demand that the Bristol City Council take the spikes down and tell residents to use find unobtrusive means for protecting their cars.
