Under Mitch McConnell's devious leadership, Senate Republicans succeeded in denying Trump the trial that the American people deserved. With no witnesses or additional evidence, the GOP ensured a sham trial – but public opinion is not on their side and will be delivered accordingly this November.
In the meantime, the House still has a big option for shedding light on Trump's criminal activity and allowing the nation access to the truth: issuing a subpoena to former national security advisor John Bolton. It won't impact the impeachment trial, but it will give us the truth and ensures that history — and the electorate — view this Republican Party as the criminal conspirators that they are.
