After a month respite, President Trump revealed in early July that he was moving forward with plans to raid the homes of thousands of U.S. residents in ten major cities in order to uproot, jail, and ultimately deport entire families.
Their crime? Pursuit of the American Dream.
While Trump claims that he targets so-called "bad hombres" the truth is that his racist raids will primarily target families who have no criminal records aside from being in the country without documentation — a misdemeanor. And for that, Trump and his anti-immigrant regime have pledged to upend the lives of hard-working families forever.
This is an abomination of the best of American values, and it must be stopped.
It is bad enough for Trump to try to close America's doors to hard working immigrants who have always made our country great, but it is a whole other level of cruel to violently remove families who have already built lives here and are contributing to their communities.
