Indonesia- Dont Rent Out Endangered Tigers as Pets

With less than 400 critally endangered Sumatran tigers left in the wild, Indonesian officials have proposed a conservation plan which would allow wealthy citizens to have tigers as pets for a fee,- about $107,000 per pair.

The sustainable solution is to offer specific protection to the critically endangered tigers: from habitat loss and from poaching. Tiger rental is not a good stategy as it will create a demand and tigers will be taken from the wild more rapidly than ever.

Tell Indonesia- do not rent out the critically endangered tigers as pets- keep them in the wild and preserve their remaining natural habitat by banning logging; otherwise they will become extinct in the wild permanently. Two other subspecies of Indonesian tiger have already been lost, the Bali tiger and Javan tiger.
