We ask that our elected officials (and the public) seek out alternatives before plunging forward with the destruction of ALL trees in our beloved downtown Asbury Park Business District.
We would like to know exactly what Asbury Park's downtown streetcape revitalization plan entails, and what are ALL reasons for bulldozing ALL of the trees in the downtown, sparing none.
Any reports or evaluations conducted that support the town's suggestion that ALL trees are dying and diseased would be ideal. We anticipate any reports or evaluations will have been completed by an outside expert having no affiliations with or related to anyone within the municipal government. We would like reports for each and every individual tree slated to be bulldozed, on a case by case basis. An opinion by The NJ Tree Commission stating "saving the trees in Asbury Park is not practical", is simply not sufficient.
