Save our babies! Educate to eliminate Shaken Baby Syndrome.

My name is Julie Jones, on July 5, 2022 my 7 month old grandson
Kastiel Lee Taylor succumbed to his trauma inflicted on his tiny little body from being shaken.
There are few providers of life saving information and support for parents and caregivers of babies and young children who are vulnerable.
Currently it is not mandatory for healthcare providers or social services to educate Every new parent about the risks of shaking their babies and educating parents about proper ways to soothe crying infants and children.
I propose that agencies like WIC and Social services and the department of health be mandated to provide every pregnant mother and their partners or support persons with the information and support to help stop this devistating and completely preventable tragic abuse. Parents should have a way to seek and recieve support without fear of loosing their children to child protection services. I believe many more people would ask for help with handling the stress of caregiving for their babies if they could be reassured that their child wouldn't be immediately removed from their home. Shaken Baby Syndrome needs to be prevented and educating and supporting parents before they bring their babies home, will save lives. The loss of our precious little ones is devistating, and the tragidy that the survivors endure can destroy many more lives.
Please let the voices of our little angel babies be heard through the people who are left here mourning their loss. Don't let another child you love be harmed by something that educating and supporting can prevent when provided.
All I ask is that you stand with me and every little angel that has been affected by Shaken Baby Syndrome, by signing this petition and letting our government know that we cannot stand by and allow another child become a victim. Educate to Eliminate Shaken Baby Syndrome.

Shaking can cause brain injury, cerebral palsy, blindness, hearing loss, learning and behavior problems, seizures, paralysis, and death.

It is estimated that 1,000-3,000 children in the United States suffer from SBS each year.

One fourth of victims of SBS die, and 80 percent of survivors suffer from permanent damage.

This is 100% preventable, make healthcare providers be held responsible for educating parents about shaking their babies and where they can get help before it happens.
