Dogs Don't Exist for Our Entertainment. It's Time Citi Field Stop the 'Mets Dog' Abuse.

For over a decade, protesters have tried to put an end to the man who forces his dogs to pose for endless photos outside of Mets games. The dogs, which some might find funny and entertaining, are required to pose for hours at a time in elaborate costumes - rain or shine. The dogs have been forced to work on rainy days and on days when temperatures exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

But dogs don't exist for human entertainment, period. This cruel act has to finally stop.

It's time for Citi Field/Mets leadership, Lewis Sherr and Samantha Engelhardt, to finally stand up for these dogs' well being and prevent this man from displaying his dogs outside of Citi Field!

Somehow, the man in question has been able to get away with this behavior for sixteen years, since he first started posing his dogs Coffee, Sushi, and Lola. The dogs wear about as much Mets-themed gear as you could possibly squeeze on an animal - Mets shirts, hats, bandanas, and they sit with a pipe in their mouth for hours on end. This is clearly not natural for the dogs and certainly not in their best interest.

The man even claims the act is not abusive, insisting that he "educates animals," and that he doesn't ask for money for pictures with the dogs. This is obviously contradicted by the sign he holds, which reads: "Thank you for the picture. But don't forget. I don't like cheap people."

Does he think we're stupid?

The Mets have distanced themselves from the man and his act, telling reporters that the Mets organization is "in no way affiliated" with this individual and does "not condone" his behavior. It's time for them to take a firmer stance and officially ban this man and his "Mets dogs" from the property.

Sign the petition to urge Mets leadership to finally protect these dogs and ban their "act" from Citi Field Property!
