SAFEGUARD CAYMAN, STAND FOR SAFETY, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND COMMOUNITY CONSENT

PETITION TO HALT CONSTRUCTION OF A HIGH-RISK IDEOLOGICAL FACILITY IN THE CAYMAN ISLANDS

To the Government and People of the Cayman Islands:

We, the undersigned, stand at a decisive moment in our nation’s history.

This is not a routine planning matter.
This is not a question of mere development.

This is a question of security, sovereignty, and survival of our democratic values.

There is a growing and legitimate concern regarding the proposed construction of a structure intended to house a group whose ideological foundations, in multiple regions across the world, have been associated with patterns of coercion, intolerance, and in extreme cases, terror.

Let us be clear:

We respect freedom of belief.
We defend lawful expression.
But we will not ignore documented global patterns where certain Religious ideologies like the Muslem Islamic faith have:

Elevated group dominance over individual liberty.

Enforced submission through fear or intimidation

Disrupted peaceful societies from within

Created environments where dissent is silenced, not debated

History has already rendered its verdict.

And history teaches us this:
What is tolerated at the foundation becomes entrenched in the future.

We refuse to gamble with the peace, safety, and cultural stability of the Cayman Islands.

This petition* is not driven by fear—it is driven by prudence.
Not by prejudice—but by pattern recognition.
Not by hostility—but by responsibility to future generations.

Like a jury presented with overwhelming evidence, we must ask:

Do we proceed despite the risks—or do we act while we still can?

We choose to act.
OUR DEMANDS:

We respectfully but firmly call upon the relevant authorities to:

Immediately halt approval and construction of this facility pending full national review

Conduct a transparent, independent risk assessment involving security, legal, and community stakeholders

Ensure that any development within our borders aligns with the values of freedom, safety, and peaceful coexistence

Prioritize the protection of Caymanian citizens above all external ideological influence

OUR DECLARATION:

The Cayman Islands must remain a place where:

Freedom is protected—not threatened

Diversity is respected—but not weaponized

Peace is preserved—not put at risk

We will not stand silent while potential threats are established under the guise of development.

This must not happen in Cayman.
