This petition is being created on behalf of our loved ones incarcerated at Dillwyn Correctional Center. The administration is neglecting their jobs of seeing to it that they have the same privileges and rights as all the other level two prisons in Virginia. For months now we have tried to resolve the matter of arts and crafts, the lack of and condition of recreational equipment, but keep getting the same answer with no resolution. Even though these things are privileges, we as tax payers have the right to know why Mr. Moyler the man we are paying as recreational supervisor is not doing his job. I myself have called and been told frisbees, jump ropes, kickballs, horseshoes, etc. have been ordered and that was two months ago. I also offered to donate the items as Mr. Moyler stated that it was not in the budget for recreational equipment. The recreational equipment is paid for by the kick backs from Keefe commissary ordering. The money that we send our loved ones to buy the things they need so there is no reason why these things should not be ordered. The other level two facilities are making sure they have recreational equipment but Dillwyn is not making this happen. The ordering of arts and crafts has been stopped at Dillwyn and we were told months ago that they will be able to order arts and crafts from Keefe, which is not being done either. I have contacted other level two facilities in Virginia and at least three of them are selling arts and crafts through Keefe. It has now been eleven months since they were allowed to order arts and crafts and why is nothing being done about it? We are paying someone to get these things done and they are obviously not doing their jobs in a timely fashion. In signing this petition you are supporting the fact that the individuals that we pay with our tax dollars are not keeping up to the standards of the administrations at other level two facilities and the recreational supervisor Mr. Moyler is not spending the money allotted by Keefe commissary in the correct manner. We would like an immediate investigation into this matter and would like a real answer as to why these things are not being done.
