Stanley the Giraffe Almost Died in California Fires

In addition to tasting chardonnays at the 1,000-acre Malibu Wine Safaris in the hills above the Pacific Ocean, visitors can hop into a jeep and view dozens of captive animals including camels, water buffalo, zebras and a giraffe named Stanley.

Keeping these animals in captivity is especially cruel since they're being exploited to attract tourists to a winery in a fire-prone area.

This has now been tragically proven by the devastating Woolsey wildfire in Malibu, which has destroyed what the winery referred to on Instagram as "a considerable portion" of its barns and facilities. A "small number of animals" are missing.

Although Stanley the giraffe apparently survived the fire, the winery is being criticized for not evacuating him and the other animals to ensure their safety.

Stanley and the other animals should not be confined in a dangerous area. Please sign and share this petition urging the owner of Malibu Wine Safaris to send the surviving exotic animals to a sanctuary.
