Long before he ever stepped foot into the White House, it was clear that Donald Trump was a textbook self-absorbed narcissist. Still, it has never been so apparent that this man cares nothing for anyone but himself as it is during the current pandemic crisis.
Setting aside the painfully obvious suggestion of injecting disinfectant and (cringe) sunlight, Trump has also refused to wear a mask and encouraged use of a drug that has been shown to cause heart disease and death. He has even gone so far as to mock former Vice President Joe Biden for wearing a mask in public — recommended by all medical professionals.
Remember, the mask is not to protect the wearer so much as those in the immediate vicinity. So, it's no surprise that Trump won't take even the most basic precautions to protect those literally closest to him.
But it gets worse, because the White House then doubles down on Trump's recklessness, telling the public that his advice is sound and that they too should endanger themselves and others.
This will get people killed and it needs to stop.
