My daughter is not allowed to attend her high school prom due to absence because of CFS, anxiety, depression and PTSD.
She always loved school and learning and is very bright and clever but illness has prevented her from going to school. Saffron is devastated about not being allowed to prom, she desperately wants to go and spend time with her friends on a special night especially as she hasn't been able to attend school since October and will be leaving to go to college.
Saffron has a beautiful dress to wear and I so want her to wear it to the prom and have a memorable night with her friends, a normal night for a few hours.
She has missed out on so much in the past 2 and a half years and will miss out on more things in the future because of her mental and physical health. She had to give up karate and kickboxing because of CFS and she was due to take her black belt exams for both and she misses doing her martial arts so much. She's not been able to sit her GCSES so has to go to college in September. She's very brave and has been through so much and every day is a battle, this is affecting her mental health terribly.
I want the school to change their minds about her attending. Why should Saffron be punished for her mental and physical disabilities, of which she has no control over?!
This petition is not only for Saffron but for all the other kids like her with chronic illnesses who have to fight everyday and are excluded from prom and other school activities. I want my Cinders to go to the ball.
