Justice for Scarface: Tell USFWS No New Hunting in Greater Yellowstone!

  • por: Chris Wolverton

The famed grizzly bear Scarface was one of the most researched bears in the Rocky Mountains region. Named for the fight scars across his face and ear, the elderly bear was living his final years roaming his native environment around Yellowstone National Park. Sadly, his last days were cut short by a hunter's gun.

Grizzly bears are endangered, and most killings are illegal unless done in self-defense. Now, Fish and Wildlife is investigating the death. Meanwhile, they have been planning to strip protections from grizzlies and allow trophy hunting in the Yellowstone area, including Montana, Idaho and Wyoming.

We cannot allow more hunters to take the lives of iconic bears like Scarface. Sign the petition to urge Fish and Wildlife to end their plans to allow grizzly hunting in the greater Yellowstone area!

Director Ashe:

I am outraged that the famed grizzly bear Scarface was recently killed by a hunter.

As you know, grizzly bears are endangered, and most killings are illegal unless done in self-defense. I am concerned that you have been planning to strip protections from grizzlies and allow hunting in the Yellowstone area, including Montana, Idaho and Wyoming.

We cannot allow more hunters to take the lives of iconic bears like Scarface. I respectfully urge you to end your plans to allow grizzly hunting in the greater Yellowstone area. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider this petition.
