Addiction Awareness NCS

We are Team Jackman from NCS with The Challenge. We are trying to improve drug addiction awareness in our local area.

We want a better, more realistic education on drug and alcohol addiction for our local area. After visiting THOMAS, a drug rehabilitation center in Salford, we decided that drug and alcohol addiction is a problem that has not been properly dealt within our education system. We carried out surveys in Manchester City Centre and found that peoples' drug education had been poor and lacking in depth and relevance. Team Jackman decided that it was time to change this. After much thought and research into addiction, we concluded that the stigma of these addictions was due to poor and/or lack of drug education.

By teaching children the realities of drug abuse and addiction, we will further prevent the rise in substance minuse. If the government fund this education on addiction awareness, it will continue to promote health and well-being within our society.
