Facebook: let us download our chats

There is currently no way to download a chat on Facebook messenger. Third-party software developers have created programs to do this, but Facebook has blocked them. Currently, you can only download your Facebook archive but there are problems with this, as it sometimes doesn't download all the chats, or else the file itself is too large to save on a common hard drive, or it gives an error that messages weren't included. Facebook should not block other problem-solving software, while refusing to allow us to save our messages, without having to scroll up one page at a time to get to the first message with a certain person.

Facebook is notorious for ignoring what Facebook users want, prefer or need. They never respond to pleas for help or change. This is another example of ignoring the simplest of requests: to allow us to download entire chats.

Furthermore, Facebook has blocked third-party software developers from providing this important feature, while not addressing the issue themselves, and in fact, making it worse by not providing this data even in their download archive feature, which they claim allows us to download these messages, along with everything else. We, as loyal Facebook users, entreat applicable Facebook personnel to provide a simple and functional way for us to save our chats. We believe you have the means and the talent to do this, but are, for whatever reason, uninterested in providing this service. We would assume that you wouldn't want us all to go to another chat vendor like Yahoo, who DOES provide the option of downloading and saving entire chat histories.

Please provide us this service as soon as possible, so we can continue to enjoy the  use of Facebook.
