Our first grade class of Edison, New Jersey is working on a social-media campaign to end bullying through social media and technology. When you think about it, elementary, middle school and high school children are given access to unsupervised technology and never taught what is appropriate and what isn’t. This causes a large gray area, and unfortunately, as you listen to the news, you hear the horror stories of what can happen. Our goal is to have 1,000 people pledge that they will not bully using social media or technology (such as cell phones.) This campaign has developed itself all from using a social platform called Edmodo where our class communicates on a daily basis over the internet and has a very special place in our hearts.

Today, we are raising money to begin a scholarship fund that supports students who have been bullied or stood up for bullying. We want to share a message that they are not alone, and while they may feel that way, so many people are fighting the long battle on their side. We believe that every human being that comes to this planet has the right to be themselves. Our hopes are to change the consciousness by opening the dialogue and educating our youth.
