Are you one of the 3.7m BT landline customers who could be owed up to £400?

In 2017 Ofcom, the telecoms watchdog, found that BT had been overcharging its standalone landline customers since at least 2009. It had been continuing to put up the price of landlines despite the fact costs had been falling since 2009.

The claim alleges 3.7 million BT landline customers could be in line for a £300-£400 payout if they had a landline between October 2015 and April 2018, or if they had a landline and broadband separately, not part of a bundle, from October 2015 until today.

In April 2018, BT agreed to drop prices by £7 per month going forward. However, this legal case argues it did not compensate customers for the excessive prices they had already paid. This overcharging affects 3.7 million UK landline customers, many of whom are older and vulnerable and could be owed up to £500 each.

Consumer Voice is working to hold BT accountable for overcharging their customers and ensure you get what you're owed. While customers do not actively have to opt in to the claim to be eligible for compensation, you are encouraged to sign up and stay updated on this trial.
