Tell your U.S. legislators to pass the RAWR Act!

In honor of 2019 World Biodiversity Day, Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Jeff Merkley (D-OR) reintroduced this powerful bipartisan legislation to end wildlife crime.

UPDATE 07/15/2019: On July 15, 2019 the RAWR Act was passed in the House of Representatives. Add your name to make sure this vital legislation now passes in the U.S. Senate

Sponsored by Representative Vern Buchanan (R-FL) in the House, H.R. 97: Rescuing Animals with Rewards Act of 2019 (RAWR Act) authorizes the Department of State and federal law enforcement to offer rewards from existing reward programs for information that targets international wildlife traffickers. In 2013, the State Department Rewards for Justice Program announced a reward of $1 million for information on one of the most notorious transnational criminal organizations engaged in wildlife trafficking. It worked. The RAWR Act further pushes the State Department to fight wildlife crime by using rewards to bring dangerous criminals to justice. But first, a majority of our legislators must vote "yes."

Add your name to become one of tens of thousands of people persuading every Senator in the nation to save wildlife by voting in favor of this legislation.
Subject: Please vote to pass the RAWR Act

Dear United States Congress,

As a member of African Wildlife Foundation's community of wildlife advocates, I'm asking you to support a vital piece of legislation that will protect wildlife: The bipartisan RAWR Act. This legislation will use rewards to bring wildlife traffickers to justice — a strategy proven to be effective.

Wildlife trafficking, an industry with annual profits of over US$19 billion, is threatening to drive species I cherish — including elephants, rhinos, hippos, and lions — into extinction. I won't stand by and let that happen. Neither should you.

Help move this legislation onto the President's desk.
