Request Meeting Math Curriculum -Irvington, NY
Request a town meeting with the Superintendent of public schools and the Board of Education regarding the math curriculum presently existing in the Irvington school system.
For many years Irvington parents have been dissatisfied with the math curriculum of this district. Dissatisfaction is due to many reasons including: phases, acceleration, and most importantly the student’s inability to master the material.
In addition, with the upcoming change in New York State requirements, we are concerned that the administration has yet to address these changes adequately so that our students are prepared not only for what State demands but more importantly, so that our students will be equipped for college and their futures; especially in light of the globalization of the world's economy.
This petition is not meant to belittle or harm any educator or administrator, but unfortunately, it has become necessary in order to give the community a voice in the future of our children.
