Limit Dog Chaining in New York

Chaining dogs for hours on end is a cruel practice that is not only uncomfortable for dogs, but can be deadly if the dog is restricted from access to water, food or shelter.

New York City Council members will soon vote on a bill to restrict the number of hours that a dog can be chained, to make the maximum hours of chaining no more than three hours in a twelve hour period.

This bill is an important step in animal welfare, and passing this bill in New York will hopefully mean more cities will follow. For the sake of the animals, chained and unable to move more than mere feet, urge New York City Council members to pass Intro. 425 and limit dog chaining.
Dear New York City Council member,

Chaining dogs for hours on end is a cruel practice that is not only uncomfortable for dogs, but can be deadly if the dog is restricted from access to water, food or shelter.

As a lover of animals and an advocate for animal welfare, I urge you to support Intro. 425 to restrict the number of hours that a dog can be chained to a maximum of three hours in a twelve hour period. This bill is an important step in animal welfare and will benefit the countless dogs that call your city home.

End the cruel practice of chaining dogs for endless hours. Vote yes on Intro. 425.
