Stand with UOSSM and Internally Displaced Persons in Syria!

It can be hard to fathom the type of violence and fear that can force a person out of their home, but for too many people in Syria fleeing for their lives this uncertainty is the new normal.

Among those forced to flee, some of the most vulnerable are Internally Displaced Persons. Unable to find sanctuary abroad, IDPs are essentially refugees in their own country.

Right now there are millions of IDPs in Syria, who have fled for their lives from armed conflict, human rights violations, and civil unrest.

For instance, over 260,000 civilians became internally displaced in just a few weeks in July when Daraa came under a fierce bombardment. Most of these IDPs were staying in the open, exposed to the elements, with no shelter, no water, no sanitary facilities, not even a tent, or cover to protect them from the scorching sun, and were near the closed Jordanian border with nowhere to go. At least half of these IDPs were children, women, and the elderly.

UOSSM is working to address the IDP crisis throughout Syria, providing primary health care, mental health care and psychosocial support, ambulatory and nutrition services to thousands of newly displaced people. But they cannot do it alone.

In the face of such staggering refugee crises like these, it's more important than ever to stand together, raise awareness, and ensure NGOs like UOSSM have the resources they need to save lives.

Please, add your name today to stand in solidarity with Internally Displaced Persons and call for urgent action to address the crisis!
