More people are putting solar panels on their roofs, sealing windows and doors, and buying energy efficient appliances. That's a great thing for family budgets and for the planet.
But some utility companies view this energy saving as a bad thing! And they want to make up that lost revenue by raising the flat charge that all customers pay, regardless of how much energy is used.
Hiking the flat charge not only penalizes those who've spent a lot to be more energy efficient, it also raises costs on customers who use less electricity in the first place, like folks in apartments and small businesses.
Stop this bad idea by telling the State Public Utility Commissioners - who oversee what utilities charge -- to oppose hikes in the flat charge. Add your name to our petition, and make sure the utilities and those who oversee them know that consumers oppose this unfair tactic!

I oppose utility company efforts to get more of my hard earned income even if I use less electricity. If I use less electricity, I want to pay less money.
